Kyriakos Antonopoulos is the President of the Board of Skyros Port Fund Authority. He has created a multi awarded small marina at Linaria Port of Skyros Island. This Port has been identified as the “Blue Port with a Shade of Green” by United Nations. He is the author of several papers and has given a lot of presentations on the environmental excellence expected in the ports. He has been instrumental in research on the variables that play a key role in the sustainability of a port. His innovative approaches have resulted in strong cooperation with the University of the Aegean, known as the Project Skyros.

In recent years, Linaria port has attracted an increase of arrivals in sea tourism, reaching 1300% since 2011. Skyros Port Fund, has adopted an environmentally sustainable agenda and has invested in innovations that make this port unique for its benefits and environmental is considered one of the most environmentally prone ports in Greece The awards and the related innovations’ recognition have charged even further the responsibility to continue in dynamic ways the tasks of promoting responsible environmental behavior for the visitors of this tourist area as well as the local community.
